Andrew Sabin
Andrew Sabin (born 1958) studied at Chelsea College of Art between 1979–83. He has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, with early solo shows at the Salama-Caro Gallery, London, and significant installations at Chisenhale Gallery and the Henry Moore Institute, Leeds, where he was included in the inaugural exhibition of European sculpture. His work has featured in major survey and group exhibitions including Century of the Body at the Musée de l’Elysee, Lausanne and Culturgest, Lisbon; Other Criteria at the Henry Moore Institute; and Sculpture in Pilane at the Pilane Heritage Museum, Sweden. Sabin has realised numerous public commissions, including The Calibrated Ramp in Bracknell, History Wall in Whitstable, and Painting and Sculpture for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. His major land sculpture The Coldstones Cut in the Yorkshire Dales won the Marsh Award for Public Sculpture in 2011. Recent solo exhibitions include Colouring the Void at New Arts Centre, Salisbury, and Two Volcanos at Brooke Benington, London.
Andrew Sabin lives and works in West Sussex alongside his wife, the sculptor Laura Ford. Together they run the educational organisation Matt Black Barn.
